Spacious renovated country farmhouse 5 minutes into the countryside from the beautiful Chateau of Villandry, three gites in one or one gite split into three means you can enjoy a pleasant family holiday or as a group of friends, this delightful demeure accomodates up to 19 people.
The Racaudière gite "Potiron" welcomes you in with it's rustic charm, all painstakingly renovated with an eye for the visual aspect.
Originally decorated, with Excellent fitted kitchen, really well thought out. Probably the most prominent feature of this group of gites is the thought and effort that has gone into creating a homely atmosphere, in every sense, right down to making the kitchen as familiar as possible.
The grounds are extensive and nicely arranged with large trees (of various kinds) giving shade for hot days, a garden suite allows you to take breakfast (or in fact any meal, especially a barbeque, as the facilities are all available, and let's face it there aren't many things that beat a good barbeque on a warm summer evening out in the middle of the Touraine countryside) On hot days, of course, you could go for a swim in the pool (fenced and alarmed for safety) which is set in the centre of a large lawn, big enough for ball games. So you could play frisbee with the children until it got too hot and the go for a dip to cool off - sounds like heaven!
If you prefer that the youngsters do their own thing, there's also a children's play area and a frog pond which you can fish for frogs, no kidding! Apparently it's like fishing for fish, but a piece of red cloth is used instead of a hook (the equipment for this activity is supplied). |

| Excellent fitted kitchens, really well thought out.
Gas stove, Oven, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, really everything one could need, including elbow-space, to prepare a delicious meal.
Brick barbeque outside allows you to demonstrate your open-air cookery skills, and if you are a real show-off, there is a large communal barbeque that can be used by all three gites making the Racaudière into a micro-community.
If you prefer to keep yourself to yourself, there is ample space to do just that too. |

| Potiron - 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and a single bed, and one with bunkbeds and a single bed.
Ideal for families, a couple with children
The main bedroom is spacious and equipped with a double bed, bedside tables and a wardrobe.
the second bedroom has a single bed and a pair of bunk-beds.
There is a WC on the first floor (upstairs), and you will find the shower room on the ground floor (downstairs).
The quality of the finish of the decor, the plaster on the walls has a touch of pastel shade to give it a certain warmth and a repetitive motif subtly stencilled into the plaster shows the attention to detail which makes this gite an absolute joy to stay in.
As your main objective when coming here would be to unwind and forget about the daily grind for a spell, you will feel relaxed the moment you set foot in La Racaudière. |

Three gites in one or one gite split into three means you can enjoy a pleasant family holiday or as a group of friends, this delightful demeure accomodates up to 19 people. Alternatively you could rent "Potiron" and "Prune" together which would accommodate 11
"Tilleul", "Potiron" and "Prune", with a colour scheme differentiating the individual gites. This would become more evident if you were to rent all three for a large group of friends and family, able to stroll between gites and appreciate the atmosphere.
The grounds of the gite are large grassy areas with trees for shade and a swimming pool so it is possible to spend your entire holiday here.
Also, as local farmers' fare is available, one has the impression of being really part of the community.
In the locality, as you would expect, there are plenty of excellent restaurants, but there are two which are really quite exceptional, and unbelievably inexpensive.
And then of course there is the Chateau of Villandry, which boasts the most celebrated gardens of all the chateaux, it even has a maze that you can't get lost in. |
