Just half an hour's drive from Tours is
Au Grand Menasson, which has got to be the most relaxing gite I have ever visited.
There is something undefinable about this gite that has you unwinding the moment you drive through it's gates.
If the reason you are going on holiday is to get away from the stress and bother of the daily grind, then this is
the place for you. You can get back in touch with nature, beautiful open meadows, leafy shaded paths leading down to the private lake, (which is fed by a freshwater spring so the water is never stagnant), for a dip, then stretch out on the sun lounger for a while to dry off, then finally amble back to the gite for a bite to eat and maybe a glass of wine. It's heaven and you won't want to leave.
The gite itself has a surface area of 135 square metres, so it's quite spacious, with a private courtyard outside and just off this one finds the outside dining table covered by a canopy of glycine, which from spring, through summer and into autumn, is just idyllic.
