Only 5 miles from the centre of Tours one finds this Beautiful gite nestling in amongst the woods and countryside that surround the city.
An 19th century farm, which, in it's day, was dependant to a Chateau (which incidentally is still there but isn't open to the public). It has been completely renovated to a level of quality which would be hard to equal, and it's decor is fabulous, it is a combination of simplicity, subtlety, and sophistication, there's no way you can talk about this gite without using superlatives.
Outside, the gite is part of a tremendously attractive 'U' shaped building, white with decorative stone window surrounds. The courtyard has a table and chairs with a huge parasol for dining outside on sunny days.
Inside, the first thing come across is the elegant sweeping wooden staircase with the gorgeous mock-marble walls, to your left you find the living area, a spacious open-plan room that at on end has two leather sofas and a coffee table next to the fireplace (with a wood burning stove so it's eco-friendly), in the centre of the room one finds the dining area next to the wonderfully succinct kitchen area. |

The kitchen is simple, clean, functional, unfussy. Fully equipped with a dishwasher, gas oven and hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee-maker and kettle.
Having gone to all the trouble of decorating this gite in such very good taste, the owners weren't going to spoil the effect here, and so the cutlery and crockery is of the highest quality. Perfect. |

Upstairs one finds the three bedrooms and bathroom all of which are just breathtakingly beautiful.
The First bedroom with its warm authentic wooden floorboards and exposed wooden beams has a double bed set beneath an attractive gold stencilled mural.
The Second bedroom, similar to the first in essence but the floral design on the wall is different and it has two single beds.
The Master bedroom, is an absolute joy to behold, terracotta tiled floor and dark exposed roof beams set the scene for the king-sized bed that is illuminated by a round window, if it weren't for all the things to do and visit you'd want to stay in bed all day.
Much larger than the other two bedrooms and it has its own shower unit.
The satin bedsheets and the bath and kitchen towels come at a supplementary cost of 50 euros |

| This gite is well situated to take advantages of the activities available in the close proximity as well as those in the greater Touraine:
100 metres from the gite is an equestrian centre.
500 metres away there is sports club with squash, etc.
2 km away from the centre of Ballan Miré.
1km from the beautiful Cycle path circuit, "Loire à vélo", that winds its way through the region,
and only 7 km away from the centre of Tours it is feasible to ride your bicycle into town to avoid parking difficulties.
In the region there are several bicycle hire companies, one needs only to ask. |
