This quite startlingly beautiful chateau and its grounds , which cover 500 hectares ( or 1235 acres in old money ), is another example of the superb accommodation you can obtain through rentagite for your trips to the Touraine.

Your breath will be taken away as you approach this imposing edifice, the road that leads to the front door is dead straight so you first see the chateau from a distance and this allows you enough time to say "wow!" a few hundred times - and mark my words, if you stay here you will probably still be saying wow when you get home.

Apart from the obvious splendour of the place, the practical side is that it has a self-contained gite that accommodates up to 10 people, and two guest rooms (for two people each).
All guests are entitled to use the swimming pool (except winter) which, very conveniently, has it's own changing rooms.
The gite (surface area of 220m sq) takes up the west wing of the chateau and comes equipped with a kitchen (all mod cons), a lounge with a TV, DVD player, VCR, gorgeous parquet floor, a dining table, comfortable sofa and armchairs and an outlook over the splendid grounds.
And for those balmy summer evenings outside there is a barbecue with table and chairs.

Rentagite Assistance

The kitchen is fully equipped, with plenty of space to do whatever one does in the kitchen.
The aspect is one of hygienic efficiency rather than olde worlde rusticity, but you never forget where you are even in the absence of a wholly impractical AGA range.

There is also a fully fitted caterers kitchen if you are planning a function on a grand scale. (refer to image)

There are 4 bedrooms in the gite and two suites elsewhere in the chateau.

In the gite one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor the other three are upstairs.
With high ceilings and good lighting, you get a real feeling of space and comfort, the beds are comfortable and clean, and the choice of bed is in keeping with the decor.
With ample wardrobe space, and en suite wash facilities one is not left wanting.

This chateau has been fitted with a state-of-the-art ecological heating system which means that the chateau stays open all year round, unlike the swimming pool obviously.

The private grounds span over 4kms in width and 1.25km deep, quite an impressive size. With woodland, lakes, meadows, and beautifully tended gardens to wander through at ones leisure, what with over 40km of footpaths that makes for a serious amount of wandering before you step off the property.

The chateau is also equipped for functions with reception rooms for 150 people and a fully equipped professional kitchen if you have something more ambitious to plan than a holiday.
Bearing in mind that Tours is only one hour away from Stansted Airport (North of London) it is, timewise at least, quicker to get to Tours than it is to get to Milton Keynes, food for thought.
And not forgetting that the cuisine is absolutely superb in the Touraine as well.
